WISDOM TOOTH EXTRACTION

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF WISDOM TEETH?

Wisdom Teeth emergence may vary depending on the location on the chin. If there is a suitable place for the Wisdom Teeth on the patient’s chin, Wisdom Teeth can appear. If there is no room for the Wisdom Teeth to come out in the patient’s chin, the Wisdom Teeth can sometimes be seen as embedded or protruding to the gingival surface. While the period of Wisdom Teeth coming out is a troublesome process for some patients, it is a very comfortable period for some patients. Wisdom tooth symptoms can be listed as follows;

– Pain can be seen in the teeth and gums.
– Gum sensitivity problem may occur.
– Pain in the jaw or ear may occur.
– Swelling seen in lymph nodes may occur.
– May cause headaches
– Pain may occur while chewing.
– Situations such as sudden contraction of the jaw while eating may occur.

WHEN DOES WISDOM TEETH ERUPT?

Teeth erupt at 20 age are called Wisdom Teeth, but Wisdom Teeth may not actually erupt at 20 age. Wisdom Teeth are 4 pieces in total, two on the upper jaw and two on the lower jaw. These teeth usually erupt between the ages of 17 and 25 years. If wisdom teeth do not erupt in this age range, “these teeth do not exist” is not accepted. The patient may not be aware of Wisdom Teeth eruption because this tooth is impacted or does not cause pain. In cases where the patient does not understand eruption, Wisdom Teeth can be diagnosed according to the x-ray result taken by the dentist. It is recommended that patients between the ages of 17 and 25 should be examined by a dentist when they begin to feel pain in the area where the wisdom teeth will come out, when they feel abnormalities in their jaw or when they realize that the tooth has come out in an abnormal appearance.

WISDOM TEETH HOW IS EXTRACTION?

There are several different methods for Wisdom Teeth extraction. Which of these methods will be preferred may differ depending on the Wisdom Teeth health status and whether there is an extraction or not. If Wisdom Teeth is extraction on gingiva, tooth roots and dental bone, the tooth is not removed in one piece. In such cases, the dentist, together with the maxillofacial surgeon, takes the tooth by dividing it into certain parts by operation. Some patients feel Wisdom Teeth pain a lot. In such cases, wisdom teeth are usually impacted. The second method for wisdom tooth extraction is to remove the Wisdom Teeth by cutting the gum. The point that the physician pays attention to here is that there is no tooth impacted on the Wisdom Teeth dental bone. After the gum is cut, the tooth is easily removed.

WHAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AFTER WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTION?

There are some rules to be considered after extraction of Wisdom teeth that are painful, rotten, have cysts or need extraction for orthodontic reasons. These points can be listed as follows;

The area where the tooth was taken should not be touched by hand.

It is not recommended to eat with the extracted side for one day after tooth extraction.

If you are consuming cigarettes or alcohol, it is recommended to take a break for the first 24 hours. Smoking, in particular, can cause bleeding at the shooting site.

Saliva should not be spit out all the time. Because saliva causes the clotted blood to be thrown out and the wound does not heal for a long time.

If swelling occurs after tooth extraction, cold treatment can be applied to the swollen area for 10 minutes. In order not to get a cold burn, it is necessary to avoid direct contact of the ice pack with the face.

If the local anesthesia method is preferred in Wisdom Teeth extraction, you should not eat until the effect of the anesthesia wears off.
