Gingival recession is defined as the retraction of the gum towards the root of the tooth and the emergence of tooth roots. Gum recession can be seen in a single tooth or more than one gum. Gum recession is an oral and dental health problem that people of all age groups may encounter. Gum recession may be due to genetic and environmental factors. There are methods to be used in the treatment of gum recession disease. To solve the gingival recession problem, first of all, it is necessary to diagnose the problems that cause gingival recession. Other ways to prevent gingival recession can be listed as follows;

· Eating a healthy, balanced, and varied diet and taking various vitamins from various foods prevents gum recession.

· Not using tobacco and alcohol products and stopping the use of these products prevents the formation of gum diseases. It is recommended to pay attention to the use of alcohol and tobacco products.

· Regularly following the differences that occur in the mouth and consulting a doctor about these changes are other methods that prevent gum recession.
