BAD BREATH

CAUSES OF BAD BREATH

Bad breath may occur due to the negative progress of dental health. It can also be considered as an indicator of different health problems. Bad breath may worsen depending on the food consumed and other unhealthy lifestyle habits.

Daily brushing, flossing and mouthwash are very important habits in terms of oral care. Food residues left between the teeth can cause bacteria formation around the gums and tongue, and in this case, bad breath occurs. Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may also be an indication of periodontal disease. Bacterial plaque formation on the teeth and toxins that irritate the gums can cause gum disease. If bad breath occurs due to gum disease, it should be treated immediately. Untreated gingival diseases can damage the teeth and jawbone.
Other causes that may cause bad breath can be listed as follows
● Intraoral fungal infections
● Tooth cavity
● Sinusitis
● Tonsillitis
● Diseases of the stomach and intestinal systems
● Prolonged hunger
● Alcohol use
● Cigarettes and tobacco products
● Dry mouth
● Diabetes
● Kidney disorders
● Nose and nasal flesh disorders can be counted.

Using fluoride toothpaste, teeth should be brushed 3 times a day for at least 2 minutes,

After each meal, the food residues between the teeth should be cleaned with dental floss, if necessary, it is recommended to use antibacterial mouthwashes.

In addition to dental care, it is also recommended to clean the bacteria accumulated in the tongue during the day with tongue cleaning brushes specially produced to clean the bacteria on the tongue.

The amount of water the body needs during the day should be consumed.
